Shown as demo is the bare shaft of the McCulloch 280 Eager Beaver.
Most weedeaters/whippersnipers will reduce to this once the cord head is removed. The Powerweeder MINI can be fitted directly to this shaft using supplied adaptors and lock bolt (not supplied)
In some models you may even be able to remove the long shaft, there are so many different makes and models.
Photo shows one of supplied adaptors on rear of weeder, adaptor size used is suited to locking bolt thickness
Always make sure lock bolt and adaptor are a neat fit, or unit will run unbalanced.
ADAPTOR as space
Photo shows one of the supplied adaptors being used as a washer/spacer.(reversed)
You can use the centering adaptor at either front or rear(preferably rear) if used at the front you can simply use a suitable size metal washer at the rear, in this case a 25mm(1") outside diameter and a 6mm(1/4") hole would be suitable.
Metal washers can also be used at the front as washer/spacer 's
If the washers are 1"(25mm) with the correct size internal hole(as stated above) then metal washers can be used front and rear with no need for adaptors
As you can see the lock nut requires suitable washer/spacer . The Bynorm adaptor has centering boss on it(fits snuggley in to rear of weeder) It is still preferable to use correct size washer at front.
The fit between lock bolt and internal washer size is critical for balance.
As you can see both the "twin packs" and single pack come with the 3 most popular adaptor sizes. (6mm,8mm,10mm) it should be noted that if an odd size was required a competent handyman could drill out a smaller sized adaptor to suit.
Obviously with litigation the way it is these days we cannot reccomend this ingenious alternative.
